RUSSIA AND INDIA TO DEVELOP JOINT 5G-FIGHTER BY 2016
March 10, 2010 SpaceWar.com reported: “A Russian-Indian fifth-generation fighter jet could be developed by 2015-2016, a Russian defense industry official said on Tuesday. Moscow and New Delhi are expected to sign a contract on a joint development of the new fighter in the near future, focusing on the design concept and technical requirements put forward by India.
"I hope that we will be able to build a joint fifth-generation aircraft in the next five to six years. It is a time-consuming and complex project," said Alexander Fomin, first deputy head of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation.

March 2, 2010 Israel National News reported: “Israel National News reports: “Ayatollah Masbah Yazdi, the spiritual teacher of Iran's dictator Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, says that the acquisition of nuclear weapons is a religious obligation. So reports the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC), headquartered in Ramat HaSharon.
Yazdi, considered one of the leading religious thinkers in Iran, authored a book in which he wrote that attaining the ability to independently produce 'special combat means of a specific type' is not only a military obligation for Iran, but also a religious one.
Just ten days ago, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the opposite...
Yazdi wrote that the country's leaders need not fear the financial costs of producing atomic weapons, as these would be more than compensated for by the 'Divine and Messianic aid' that would result.

TURKEY'S DEFENCE CHIEFS ASSESS 'SERIOUS' COUP PLOT
February 23, 2010 AFP reported: “Turkish prosecutors will on Wednesday question some of the suspects arrested over an alleged military coup plot, as US and European Union officials expressed concern over the affair.
The accused will also be brought before a judge to face possible charges over the alleged plot, which investigators say was designed to topple the Islamist-rooted government, the Anatolia news agency reported. Police detained more than 40 suspects Monday over a purported plan codenamed "Operation Sledgehammer" which dated back to 2003.
The alleged plot was aimed at bringing down the Islamist-rooted Justice and Development Party (AKP) administration.

February 10, 2010 BBC News reports: “Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri says he is concerned about 'escalating' threats posed to the Middle East by Israel. Mr. Hariri told the BBC that Israeli planes were entering Lebanese airspace every day, and he feared the prospect of another war with Israel. He accused Israel of making a huge mistake by allegedly threatening both Lebanon and neighboring Syria. His comments come days after Syria and Israel exchanged hostile accusations.

IRAN SLAMS US DEFENSE MISSILE DEPLOYMENT IN GULF
February 3, 2010 The Voice of America News reports: “Iran's parliament speaker Ali Larijani lashed out at U.S. plans to deploy defensive missiles in the Gulf, branding the decision a 'political ploy' aimed at increasing its military strength in the region.
Larijani condemned the deployment during a parliament speech in which he also praised Iran's independent foreign policy set forth by Islamic Republic founder Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
